Fighting for our right to Caffeinate

On this delightful Caffeinated Sunday, we set off on a journey south to the charming town of Zumbrota, eager to discover a quaint coffee shop nestled in the heart of downtown. To our dismay, upon arrival, we were met with an unexpected closed sign—something we hadn’t checked on their website. Faced with rumbling stomachs after an hour-long drive, we found ourselves in a bit of a breakfast crisis. Coffee was essential, especially given the swirling traffic around us.

As we scoured the area for alternatives, we stumbled upon Nature’s Grind Coffee Co. Discovering this gem was no easy feat. Navigating through two bustling gas stations, a confusing roundabout, an oddly shaped intersection, and a halo of impatient drivers made our quest feel like a small adventure. Yet, the frustration melted away when we finally arrived, and it was worth every moment of the hunt.

Inside, I opted for the delightful Smores coffee while Kari chose the rich dark chocolate mocha. Both beverages were a perfect caffeine boost, satisfying our cravings with each sip. As for breakfast, I savored a warm bagel layered with fluffy egg, melted cheese, and savory ham, while Kari enjoyed a similar treat but with flavorful sausage instead. Each bite was comforting and delicious.

To cap off the experience, I indulged in a heavenly blueberry scone. It was bursting with fresh blueberry flavor and baked to perfection—light and crumbly, yet rich in taste. Among the array of tempting treats displayed, the scone was truly the highlight for me.

I wholeheartedly recommend stopping at Nature’s Grind if you find yourself in the area. The entire experience made the drive worthwhile, proving to be an excellent option when other avenues may be closed. I would rate this experience a solid 4 out of 5 cups.
